چکیده

Multicarrier transmission system such as Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a promising technique for high bit rate transmission in wireless communication systems. OFDM is a spectrally efficient modulation technique that can achieve high speed data transmission over multipath fading channels without the need for powerful equalization techniques. A major drawback of OFDM is the high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of the transmit signal which can significantly impact the performance of the power amplifier. In this paper we have compared the PAPR reduction performance of Golay and Reed-Muller coded OFDM signal. From our simulation it has been found that the PAPR reduction performance of Golay coded OFDM is better than the Reed-Muller coded OFDM signal. Moreover, for the optimum PAPR reduction performance, code configuration for Golay and Reed-Muller codes has been identified. Keywords—OFDM, PAPR, Perfect Codes, Golay Codes, ReedMuller Codes

Near Shannon Limit and Reduced Peak to Average Power Ratio Channel Coded OFDM

Solutions to the problem of large peak to average power ratio (PAPR) in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems are proposed. Although the design of PAPR reduction codewords has been extensively studied and the existence of asymptotically good codes with low PAPR has been proved, still no reduced PAPR capacity achieving code has been constructed. This is the topic of the curre...

Selective Tone Reservation method for PAPR reduction in SFBC-OFDM systems

The high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and MIMO-OFDM systems reduces the system efficiency. In this paper, an extension of Tone Reservation (TR) method is introduced for PAPR reduction in Space Frequency Block Coded OFDM (SFBC-OFDM) systems. The proposed algorithm is based on a time domain kernel which is added to the signal of the anten...

Quadrature Amplitude Modulated Codes for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Applications

The development of next generation of high-speed mobile communication systems requires cost-effective transmission techniques. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a transmission scheme that has gathered much attention lately for its high performance at comparably low complexity. It has already been adapted in the European radio(DAB)and TV(DVB-T)standards, and IEEE 802.11a. Desp...

A Low Complexity Forward Error Correction for PAPR reduction in OFDM Systems

In this paper, a Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) reduction technique in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems is proposed. This technique uses error correction capability of channel coding to reduce the PAPR.The coded bits at the input of OFDM modulator are separated into two groups of the Most Significant Bits (MSB) and the LeastSignificant Bits (LSB). The bits are mappe...
